While the Amerindo Self Defense system has a large amount of material, the basic curriculum can be easily outlined:
- Hormat (respect – perhaps the best survival tool)
- Awareness (which is intimately tied to hormat)
- Stepping – Lanka (evasive and tactical footwork)
- Striking – Jurus (hands, elbows, knees, kicks and body)
- Body Position – Sikap
- Awareness of balance and angles for you and your opponent (results in the combination of position, stepping and striking)
- Locks and Counters
- Takedowns
- Finishing Techniques and Strategies
- Ground Techniques
- Weapons (blade, stick, cabang)
